About Begbroke Playgroup

Opened in 1979, Begbroke Playgroup is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a parent management committee. It operates from two rooms in the annexe of Begbroke Village Hall and is situated in the village of Begbroke, near Woodstock.

Our playgroup includes a large playroom, a smaller room for arts and craft activities and a quiet corner. The children have access to a secure outdoor play area with three different play surfaces and a sensory garden.  We also have use of the large adjoining village hall and are situated next to the village playing field and playground.

A maximum of 16 children may attend the playgroup at any one time. We take children from the age of two up to school age. We fully support nappy changing and the transition to potty training led by parents.

We are registered with and inspected by OFSTED.

Additional support

We support children with Special Educational Needs and English as an Additional Language.

Preparing for school

Begbroke Playgroup mainly feeds into Woodstock Primary School and William Fletcher School in Yarnton; we work closely with these schools to ensure a smooth transition for the children from playgroup to the foundation stage of school.
